photogenic bunny

i was just back in stratford visiting my aunt. she is back at the hospital which is a good thing ~ it means occupational therapy and getting ready to go home instead of just waiting and waiting to heal. it is a longer walk but a very beautiful one.

one night i saw this bunny who waited until i had adjusted the flash and other settings so that i could get this photo.

afternoon thunder

stratford, ontario
Yesterday was the hottest day so far this summer. I think. I have not checked that fact but it was 30something to 40something depending upon whether you believe in the humidex or not.

At about 4pm this happened.

It lasted about 15 minutes and then it was a steamy 30something
to 40something again.

peggy's cove

On June 12 Ronalda, David, Debbie and I went to Peggy's Cove. I was so happy. As soon as I knew that I was going to Halifax, I had a huge craving to stand out on those rocks in the wind. And I could not have been in better company. What fine people these are.

on the rocks

David explored the nooks and crannies.

While Debbie pondered...

and wondered...

and searched...

and enjoyed the plant life...

the beales

After we had explored the rocks, Ronalda and I walked into the town

past the goats

to the Jo Beale Gallery. We looked at the art and chatted with Jo. I bought some beautiful watercolour cards and took a picture through her window. I told her that I used to go to school with her brothers Kelly and Tobias. She said that Tobias might be at Beale's Bailiwick (a gift shop) and that Kelly might be at the Old Red Schoolhouse painting the door.

We checked BB but no Tobias.

We walked up to the ORS.

We saw signs of work but no sign of Kelly.
And, as you can see,
the door had not yet been painted.

We heard a thumping noise coming from here and we called out his name but still no Kelly. Perhaps the thumping was the wind or perhaps Kelly was hiding.
If you want to see Kelly, click here.

more rocks

After the fruitless search for the elusive Beale brothers, we looked at the memorial for the fishers of Peggy's Cove.

Then we drove to the memorial for the passengers of the Swiss Air flight that crashed close by and the people who helped the families recover and recover artifacts from the flight.

People did not like this memorial put up by the government, so they built another one near Bayswater that has the names of all the people who died. If you create a triangle from this memorial out into the ocean and to the one in Bayswater, the point of the triangle is at the crash site.
