We took the bus to Bayswater to meet the mother of one of my sister's nursery school friends for dinner. Before dinner we had a prowl around our old neighbourhood.

This where we lived when we were very young. 40 Hatherly Court.






















Auntie Lily and Uncle Joe lived up the road at 97 before they moved to Kent.






















And here is a nice tree on a balcony across the street.






















We used to shop at Whitely's.























It is quite fancy now and more a mall than a department store. My Dad's second job in London was here at the bookstore in 1955ish.

what i can see (and hear!) from the flat

My sister's flat is wedged in between two construction sites :P But also two cathedrals, a market, an art gallery, a secret garden, a river, about 6 theatres, ... just for a start.

I arrived in London at about 9 p.m. Sis met me at Heathrow and we came to her nice, teeny flat for beer and snacks.

She had made up the beds for us. Her king size bed divides into two Dick Van Dyke twin beds. Everything was set up perfectly for my visit. I had bins and shelves for my stuff. Somehow she had made this small space feel palatial.

















And she got me a phone for my stay. It is way fancier than the one I use at home. Take that Rogers roaming fees!
