vagueowl

The first shrine at the hot springs was built by Celts and was dedicated to the goddess Sulis. The Romans identified Sulis with Minerva. Minerva is the Roman goddess of warriors, poetry, medicine, wisdom, commerce, weaving, crafts, magic and the inventor of music. The owl, a symbol of wisdom, is her sacred creature.
